Options Care Center (OCC) has been serving the community since 1985, originally as Choose Life of Jamestown, INC and Women’s Services of Chautauqua County. We aim to provide truthful information to the public in order to empower them to make educated and life-affirming choices regarding sexual health and pregnancy. OCC is a faith based, life-affirming non-profit providing support to pregnant women and their families.

At OCC, we offer comprehensive education on each pregnancy option: abortion, adoption, and parenting in addition to meeting the practical needs of the client. All information is given in an objective manner that allows the woman to make an educated decision regarding her pregnancy. By providing the client with truthful, research-based information, she is able to make an informed choice.

OCC provides the following free and confidential services:

  • Pregnancy Tests:

All tests are hospital grade tests.

  • Ultrasound Services:

We refer for on-site ultrasounds, performed by licensed medical professionals.

  • The HOPE Program:

A parenting education program using Brightcourse media. Moms and dads can earn items for their child by watching videos and discussing parenting topics with an advocate at the center. This course equips the mother and her support partner with the tools for parenthood.

  • Every Bottom Covered:

We’ve teamed up with Every Bottom Covered, a non-profit in Buffalo, NY that provides supplemental diapers to families in our area. Each child under 3 years old can receive 50 diapers and a pack of wipes every 30 days. Parents need photo ID, the baby’s birth certificate, and a WIC or SNAP card.

  • REAL Essentials:

A healthy relationship course that goes into area schools and community centers to teach the essentials of relationships. It covers friendships, family relationships, romantic relationships, sexual health, conflict resolution, and more.

  • Post abortion Care:

1 in 4 women have experienced an abortion in her lifetime. Many don’t realize the effect that the abortion decision has on a woman. OCC uses Surrendering the Secret by Pat Layton in a post abortion support and recovery class. This class is set up much like a Bible study and walks the post abortive woman through the healing and forgiving process. For more information, contact the center at (716) 664-5459.

  • Abortion Pill Reversal:

The abortion pill (ru486, chemical abortion) consists of 2 pills. The first, Mifepristone, cuts off progesterone, a naturally occurring hormone that helps provide nourishment and oxygen to the growing baby, by latching to the same receptors that progesterone connects to. The second pill, Misoprostol, causes cramping that expels the baby. Abortion Pill Reversal is the simple task of introducing progesterone to override the receptors plugged by the abortion pill. This has been known to be between 64-68% effective if taken within 24-72 hours after the patient takes the first abortion pill. Results are not guaranteed. Call 877-558-0333 or go to Abortionpillreversal.com if you or someone you know has taken the first abortion pill and changed her mind.*

In addition to referring for onsite ultrasound, which would be offered each week during the APR process, the partnering medical services provider would assist with any medication needed throughout the process.

  • Options Information:

When a woman finds out she is pregnant, she has three options: parenting, adoption, and abortion. All of these choices are hard and life changing.

    • For the abortion minded woman, provide accurate, up to date information about what type of procedure she would be experiencing. (Abortion procedures change with how far along a woman is in her pregnancy.) We aim to inform a woman on the procedures; discuss the mental, emotional, and physical consequences that may be specific to her situation; and help to remove the obstacles and challenges that may be pressuring her to abort. By giving her the tools and knowledge about her options, she can make the choice that she can live well with.
    • For the adoption minded woman, we help connect her with families in our area who are ready and waiting to adopt as well as judges and lawyers who have worked with adoption in our area, or we’ll connect her with a reputable agency who can walk her through the whole process.
    • For the parenting minded woman, we connect her with area services, including our own that will help her throughout her pregnancy.

OCC is supported by individuals, churches, businesses, and fundraising opportunities.
